2001 ....... what a year !

On the left, Lin Lee from Hong Kong. Lin is the " 2001 clamguy clammer of the year."       On the right, is Al Rivera Jr. or "AJ", as he is known. AJ is from St. George, Utah. The below photo shows AJ being awarded his clamguy teeshirt in July.  The teeshirt was awarded for AJ's three week study of the Great South Bay and its underwater sea life.

Here at clamguy.com we put Long Islands best foot forward. We introduce international government officials to our bays, inland waterways and of course, clamming.  Below are Roger Bosio and Jean Pierre Raffaelli. They are police officials in the Principality of Monaco, which is located on the eastern end of the French Riviera in the south of France. They love our clams.  Unfortunately, Jean Pierre and Roger were clamming with me on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Even though we were some forty miles away we could see the World Trade Center on fire. We saw the towers disappear in a cloud of white smoke. We only learned of the severity of the incident upon returning to Massapequa, later that morning.
